Good deal. Let us know how your caps turn out. I've got a set that needs the same and some other small parts as well.

I've heard that's the place to go. I would have used them by now, but I don't have anything that needs to be chromed. From here it's only about 4 hours south.

They told me I can mail them my hubcaps then they'll call me with an exact price and I can pay with check or credit card. I emailed them for a rough quote and they where very fast with reply's. So I would contact them on larger stuff about shipping. Nate

They quoted me ~$40 to ship my two bumpers up to Albuquerque so I'm sure they'll ship the small stuff too.

They charged $39 a cap (which is what they quoted me through an e-mail) and $20 for shipping them back. The caps I sent where painted with no dings or dents on them, actually 2 caps where NOS.

Re: Bumpers back from plating...before and after

That is not bad. Some of these chrome shops have gotten outrageous on their prices. I know they have to meet strict regulations but what I was told by a company that I dealt with was they get you on buffing out the chrome. They said it is the most time consuming part and I know it is because I buff a bunch of stuff here but why all the sudden does it cost more to buff now opposed to a year ago. It is like everything else if you will pay for it then they will charge more.

Thanks Nate (PT)

Re: Bumpers back from plating...before and after

I took a cap to Carlisle and received quotes from 3 vendors. They all told me roughly the same thing. $65-$75 an hour labor and roughly 1.5---2.0 hours each cap. That's between $390---$600 for a set of dog dish caps

Re: Bumpers back from plating...before and after

Yeah Paul's chrome was in Charlotte last year and my buddy is doing a 66 SS 396 4 speed Chevelle and got a price on some stuff and I thought I was going to choke when he gave him a quote. Do not get me wrong his work is to die for but I did not want to die. I do not see how these folks stay in business.

Nice work on the bumpers- with the price that they're charging it makes me wonder how thick the plating is- I guess time will tell. Looking forward to seeing more from them.

Re: Bumpers back from plating...before and after

Well guys let me start off by saying that I never had anything chromed before. Also that I am a naysayer so here is my take on these guys.

I sent them a set of 4 painted hubcaps in nice condition, two where NOS, one was a nice original and the fourth cap was nice but had some rust on the back side. No dents or dings in them. They quoted me a price of $39 each plus shipping through E-mail from photos that I sent. Upon receiving them they called me and quoted the same $39 each plus shipping

Turn around time was roughly 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 weeks. They package the caps very well for shipping, double wrapped and boxed with Styrofoam popcorn.

There total cost was $171.11 plus my initial shipping cost of $20 equals $191.11

Re: Bumpers back from plating...before and after

I would consider one cap to be perfect. Two of the caps have flaws in the chrome but I need to hold them close to see them. The fourth cap chrome looks good but they must of dropped the cap because there are three dents with scratches in it

I tried to get pictures of the flaws and scratches but they are to shiny.

All in all I think for the price you can't go wrong. They do look better than the NOS chrome caps that I had which also had flaws in the chrome

Let me add even though the chrome job may not be perfect, they didn't cost $400+ to have done, and yes I am happy and smiling. Nate

This is exactly why the price is so cheap. It is done in Mexico. Not a big deal though, looks awesome
