Re: I paid $2000 dollars for this truck but these pics are PRICELESS !

Werent you the one that posted about giving him your black 67 ? Good plan I'm diggin the 68 too.. Now, if he wants to bag it, you gotta let him. That's part of the deal, right? Big stereo, step notch .. help him make this truck what he wants.

Good luck on the build.

Very nice truck. I can see in your son's eyes he loves that truck. Reminds me of when my son got his truck.

I agree, that is a straight old truck! Have you set him up with a build thread on it? Does he have his own forum ID ? That might be kinda cool so he could receive all the encouragement that we all know he'll get from this group

cool, let us know where you find the 4" for the front...I've been told 3" is the most you can do and are actually sold....I know hotchkis says 4" online but then they actually sell you a spindle w/ a drop spring according to others on here....

That's a great looking truck and those Vette poverty caps fit it very well. It'll look awesome once lowered on those.

Re: I paid $2000 dollars for this truck but these pics are PRICELESS !

i have 3 inch drop springs on mine and fabricated 4 inch hangers for my rear drop. i am going to have to find an underslung rear end or fab my existing one to get the remaining drop i want. 4 inches on the shackles make them hit my bed, but i have an 88, so you may want to check and double check the clearance

Re: I paid $2000 dollars for this truck but these pics are PRICELESS !

That's a good looking 68. It's the same color combo 68 that my girlfriend drove to school back then. It's the truck that caught my attention and never left. Hers was the 327 and auto. That truck is long gone but I kept the girl. It's been 41 years now.
Just the initial cleanup helped your truck a lot. It's only getting better.
Enjoy the time with the son. Once he hits the streets you probably won't see him much anymore. Oh and buy him some britches will ya...
