Anyone switch over to the metal door panels? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I currently have the deluxe 69 reproduction door panels with the scroll on them in black.

I think they are a little "much" and been looking into getting the metal door panels.

Maybe keep them black or paint them to match the truck but curious how you guys are liking for metal panels or should I just keep the deluxe ones... decisions decisions..

Both mine have metal panels and I like them, my trucks are just plain jane models so the metal panels look good on it.
Iam going to get chrome plated ones though got my chrome ash tray next is the glove box door then the panels.

I took my metal ones out and made my own. I like them a lot better.

Went to a local upholstery shop and bought the cardboard stuff they use to make them with. Just used the leather material to cover them. I cut the board pattern then drilled holes to secure it with. put screw in it to mark then took it off and used the plastic Christmas tree's to hold it in place.

Those look nice, I like that they fill the whole door.

I just think the repo door panels look kind of cheap and like the original styling of the plain steel panels.

Any pics of steel panels in your trucks guys?

I took my steel panels and had them covered with leather to match the seats

those look nice and that's what mine was before but I wanted something to cover up the old speaker holes in the door bottom.
Look close at the driver's door. Mine was cloth though with the cheap carpet cover over the bottom.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
