Mildly built 350 coil queston.

I'm building a mild 350 with vortec heads, comp cam, performer intake, and 600cfm carb. What would be the best upgrade coil for this motor?

the stock HEI coil would work more than perfect for this combo. really the GM HEI distributor is a really nice under-rated piece. itll hold up to the RPMs and get the job done..

Re: Mildly built 350 coil queston.

Have an accel brute force coil on mine.

The ignition module is the killer in hei distributors. They usually drop off after 6k.

Re: Mildly built 350 coil queston.

I have had poor experiences with the MSD coils. When you look at them , they have "Made in China" on them. I have found the Delco coils are more than enough for my 383 engine and it runs great.
