Free: camper bumper

I've only ever seen this bumper on Custom Campers and Camper Specials. It is rather large and doesn't have a hole for a trailer ball or hitch pin (Although it could have one drilled). The bumper has two long pieces of channel iron welded to the back, which slide inside brackets that bolt to the frame. The pic below is the fully-extended position; it also can be retracted to look "normal." It is free, and in NE Texas, northeast of Dallas. I might also be able to deliver to places in or near Texas.

I saw one of those once...we used it as a work bench after tossing a pit of ply wood on it.
That same bumper is shown in my 69 GMC owner's manual as a dealer installed item, it may have been on there since new.

Some of the campers would hang over that far. Some were 12 feet long.

Thanks for the info, Andy. I'm pretty sure it was on since new. This pickup's original title was issued to the owner from (what I think was) an RV dealer that has gone out of business: Libby's Coach Sales in Dallas. It was delivered to a dealership in Garland, though. If it didn't get installed at the dealer, then I'm sure it was installed at the RV place...where they also installed a pretty nifty spare tire hanger that I'll take a pic of and show y'all another day.

I have one on my '72. Found the brackets in a junkyard and adapted a late model Dodge Ram chromie to it...works slick and is actually lighter than the original heavy stem pumper!
