tahoe chassis

Has anyone used a tahoe chassis under a 48 body? the wheelbase is the same not sure about width.

I'm pretty sure the tahoe will be a little wide. If they are the same width as a newer pick up or suburban, it will be too wide. If you want the 4X4 look with the wheels extending out beyond the fender, then the 48 body probably could be put on a tahoe chassis, but I think its needs to be about 8" off the frame for motor and trans to clear the floor and to have enough fender clearance.

Don't know how close a tahoe is to an envoy but you might take a look at Beeeps thread. he had to use big truck front fenders and widen the rear fenders to get the tires under them. Lots of other fab work too especially in the firewall and front clip area.
