My uncle who lived out in the boonies had quite a few of theese. He would let us drive his running "sand car" a '63 that he had cut the front and rear quarter panels out and removed the rear doors, hood and trunk. We all learned how to drive on the calichi roads and sand dunes (somewhat) in that car. Man would we tear it up!!

Speaking of WW-2 ... hope you guys don't mind me straying from cars a bit to share some history.

Like most U.S. car makers Pontiac retooled for the War effort and made parts for bombs, planes, artillery and the likes.
