Please help

I have a 77 k20 with a sbc350 a few months ago it was running rough so I changed the spark plugs, wires, distributor cap,and rotor. After that it ran fine for about a month then it ran out of gas and hasn't started since I added gas to both tanks looked at all spark plugs cleaned and checked for spark again and also made sure the distributor cap was on good and all wires were right. After that I looked at line going from fuel pump to carb and there was gas squirting out so there's pressure. Then after playing around with stuff it started and ran for about a minute with rough idle. Then it hasn't started since. It really wants to start but won't. Any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Please help

Sounds like it just needs to get gas to the carb. Get a small container and put gas directly in the carb bowl, or trickle some to keep it running. Probly alot of air in the line, and tho a motor needs air, needs fuel too!!!

Re: Please help

Poured some gas in the carb it still wouldn't start and also when I hit the gas when I turn it over it like starts stronger if that makes since. When you push the gas it wants to go but when you let go of the key it stops.

Re: Please help

I'd say the fuel filter is clogged. There is usually a screen in the carb itself that gets clogged as well. Mine would bog at higher rpms until I replaced that filter in the front of the quardrajet.

Re: Please help

Make sure engine at number 1 cylinder is at top dead center, then take cap off, make sure rotor is pointing at number 1 cylinder.
