gas tank for blazer

I bought a gas tank that fits a blazer and I am installing it in a 68 chev short wheel base steep side C10. The tank came in and with it was the sending unit and two rubber o rings. My question is: Which O-ring do I use? The one with the tab or without the tab. Since I'm dealing with gas I want to get a good fit and no leaks. What is the correct way to install the oil ring? Is there a lub that is used on the oil rings also? Gdavis

Re: gas tank for blazer

Might be simple but do the 0-rings sandwich the sending unit?

tank - o-ring - sending unit - o-ring - lock ring?

That might be the case. I really don't know. I thought that someone here has installed the sending unit on a poly tank.

Thanks a lot for the informaton on the o-ring. But, I need a three hole bracket that attached to the tank. Tank number 2042 the previous owner had altered it and now it is distroyed. So the short story is. I have to get another one. I contacted the builder of the tank this moring. I hope they can ship me another one.

Re: gas tank for blazer

How do you plan to attach the filler neck to new tank. Just curious because mine leaks there. Someone previously did something incorrect so I need to re do this.
