replacing master cylinder and prop valve after disc brake conversion

Hoping someone could provide some direction. I have a 69 c10 short bed that I am currently restoring and just completed converting all to disc brakes...also ran new lines as well... the truck was originally a drum/drum power brakes truck. Now I am looking for a inexpensive way for a disc/disc master cylinder and proportional valve?? I was told I could use a 75 corvette disc/disc mc and PV? Is this true? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Your master cylinder should be OK but you will need a disc-disc prop valve.

I figured I could you my c10 master, but wasn't sure if it would better if the front and rear reservoir where equal in size....just seeing if a camaro or corvette mc would work?

Could you recommend a PV that would be inexpensive?

Re: replacing master cylinder and prop valve after disc brake conversion

Your orig master will work. The Corvette will fit also. The difference is that with your drum master you will need to add fluid down the road as the pads wear, this is to keep the master from possibly running out due to small reservoirs. You can addthe GM non adjustable prop valve for 4 wheel disc or use an adjustable on the rear line. You may be OK without one also. You really only need one if your rear brakes lock up excessively before the front brakes. I would drive it, give the pads time to braek in and see how it performs, if the rears don't lock up before fronts I wouldn't bother with it. If they do then splice in the adjustable in the rear line and adjust to stop the rears from locking.
