NEED HELP! Correct Rims For Hub Caps

Looking for some help on the correct rims to fit stock GMC hub caps to. My 1969 GMC 1500 Custom has 6 lug drum rear setup and 6 lug Disk front setup. Current rims do not have the lugs that the hub caps snap over.

In the backside picture it measures 10" inside hub cap lip.

I want to put the car back to more of a stock look on the outside.

Craig -- I don't know as I am new to this 69 Suburban and the wheels that fit the hub caps shown. What are yours? Can you post a couple pictures of what I need? Are they 6 lug? 15" or 16"?

Re: NEED HELP! Correct Rims For Hub Caps

Thanks, Do your rims have same type hub cap? Do your wheel center have 3 or 4 lugs that the back of hub cap snaps over?

Re: NEED HELP! Correct Rims For Hub Caps

Still looking for the correct 15" 6 bolt rims to fit the snap-on hub caps shown in the first post.

Can anyone help me out. I have found some 15" 5 bolt rims that the hub caps fit, but none yet that are 15" 6 bolt that caps snap-on.

Re: NEED HELP! Correct Rims For Hub Caps

Someone here posted this link to these wheels and they may be the ticket. Link says it will fit a 10 1/4" cap.

MusicMan70 -- Thanks for the web site, I will call them in AM and see

if they will work. Need to make sure the 6 bolt 5.5" is the same as a

Chevy/GMC pattern. They get $57 each, but they are new & power coated

gloss black. Seems like a descent deal.

I just noticed you mention disc brakes. Ask if these will work for disc's.

Re: NEED HELP! Correct Rims For Hub Caps

MusicMan70 -- That was going to be my first question to them.

I checked my 6 bolt rim and it measures 5.5" c/c on bolt pattern.

I'll find out on Monday about disk brake and shipping.

Re: NEED HELP! Correct Rims For Hub Caps

Craig7070 -- Just answered your PM on the pictures, thanks.

You said that you have disk brakes on front of your truck and the rims fit fine. Is there any way you can measure the back spacing so I can ask the trailer place if there rims are the same? I'm sure you know how already, but just in case lay a straight edge across the rim and measure down to mounting flange on the wheel.

Thanks, Tom

Re: NEED HELP! Correct Rims For Hub Caps

Ain't this the way it always goes, been looking all over the web for a set of 5 1/2 or 6" wide original 6 lug wheels for my 69 Suburban so I can mount my GMC hub caps and get rid of those crap Ford plastic caps that were on it when I purchased.

Sold some 292 motor parts to a local guy in my home town that is restoring a 1965 Suburban (barn doors) and I told him what I was looking for. The short of it was that he had a nice set of rims with 23575R15 tires on them with lots of tread. Made a deal on all four. Had them rebalanced today and installed. Put my redone driver caps on and I think she looks like a fresh driver.

Couple of pictures

Re: NEED HELP! Correct Rims For Hub Caps

craig7070 -- Thanks for the help. I'm happy that I was able to find the rims in my local area. I will change out the tires to the Goodyear Wranglers I had on the other rims later but for now the tires that were on the rims will do fine.

Those look really good with the black painted trim. It just sets everything off. Good choice...

Re: NEED HELP! Correct Rims For Hub Caps

LockDoc -- Thanks, I think the black rims work better with the white hub caps and it does go well with the painted trim. The next big item is to repaint all the silver top back to the original white.
