Re: WTB 1967 Chevy/GMC V8 Engine

I have a 283 that came out of a 1967 3/4 4x4 unfortunately it was locked up and I have spent some time to get the pistons loose but have not got it dismantled yet.

I can't tell you that the block is good, but it came out of a truck that was wrecked and parked in 1975 or '76 and only showed 58,000 miles on the truck.

I slipped with my tools and dinged the crank throws so the crank probably is bad, the heads are complete, but very rusty.

And I have other parts that came off of it.

If your interested there is a possibility that I may be headed to Pierce, Nebraska to the big auction going on at that car dealership that shut down many years ago. It just depends on if my dad buys anything or not as to me driving that way with truck and trailer. If I do I can load them and we could meet so you could look at them.

Just an idea, let me know where the marking are that referring to.

Yes I am definitely interested. What are the standings on the engine block on the passenger side right in front of the head? I am going to try and go to Pierce next weekend so we might possibly be able to meet up there.

Yeah that would work although it does look pretty rough. How are the insides of the cylinders? Looks like a lot of rust. How much are you thinking you want out of it?

Yeah it isn't super great, but I would say it could clean up with a .010 bore.

I'll take it by an engine rebuilding friend of mine and get him to tell me what he thinks.

How about $85.00 for the block and heads?

Sounds fair to me. What other parts do you have to the engine. I'll need pretty much anything you have.

Re: WTB 1967 Chevy/GMC V8 Engine

I have another thread labeled "1967 rams horn manifolds and engine parts"

Look for it and that is most of what I have for it.

There may be a few other things but I will just have to look.

Re: WTB 1967 Chevy/GMC V8 Engine

Still looking. Would be willing to buy an entire parts truck or whatever if the engine is what I'm looking for.
