They are the exact same frames. Find a 2wd truck and pull the crossmember and a-arms off and you will have a 2wd truck. The other difference is the 4wd shackles are longer in the rear than a 2wd. They actually hang below the frame while the 2wd are roughly even with the frame rails.

I am kind of doing the same thing myself. Was in the process of bagging my 74 and found out the front had been wrecked and was fixed poorly. So I found a 74 4wd frame for $150 and we are going to swap that out for the 2wd.. The best part if I don't have to worry to much about the front since I have a porterbuilt front for it. For bagging that is the only way to go..
