I think the shop is took my truck into messed it up
I have an 85 k10 I think the shop I took my truck into installed my new steering stabilizer wrong. Can someone post a picture on how a single stabilizer looks

There isn't really a wrong way, it will only go on one way. It mounts to the frame on one end and the drag link in the other end. What's leading you to think yours is wrong?

The attaching end are switched the end that mounts to the frame is attaching to the drag link is that ok?

yeah, there really is no wrong way, if using the stock brackets. if not using the stock brackets, just make sure you have enough stroke to cycle the wheels both ways.
an old bds stabilizer. crappy pic, had to jack up the brightness to see it |

Here's mine maybe they ordered one with not enough stroke it will feel like I'm on my steering stops if I crank it to the left

No, it goes between the axle housing in the tie-rod. An '85 should have a bracket welded to the housing near the center, close to where the tube goes into the casting. The other end is a tapered hole in the tie-rod itself, closer to the driver's side.

Yes I can turn right fine but when I do it make a slight pop noise so it seems to me that maybe the stabilizer doesn't have the right amount of stroke. Or I was thinking the stabilizer got installed backwards or so it extends the other way

Remove end from tie rod. Turn fully left. Pull out rod from stabilizer to see if it will reach. If it doesn't then take the truck back.

Just looking at the pic provided, I would bet that something is wrong. It seems, from this angle that this is put together with a single bolt all the way through the shock and the tie-rod? If so, it is likely that nothing was done to accommodate the tapered hole. It is supposed to be installed with a stud that fits the taper, which also spaces the shock away from the tie-rod by 1/2"or so.
This improper bolt may be causing some of your bind.

That could be the case. When I pulled it off today I notice that the bolt your stating is a regular bolt with a machined tappered sleeve slipped over it

learn to work on your own junk, it makes your truck much more special to you! its cheaper and you will only have yourself to blame when things go wrong, that being said i think it has the wrong damper on it

That's what I'm thinking I usually always work on mine I just didn't have the time and it needed to be done. Thanks guys for the help I'll have to check my stabilizer tomorrow
