Re: what items did you find in your truck?

Check out the 2 lbs of creosote I "found" in the bed. Had to wait until it got cold out so the stuff would be brittle enough to chip out without gumming up the chisel.

Re: what items did you find in your truck?

Wow... what did I find in my truck today?

About 7pm I took a bag of trash to the trash can. First thing I noticed was the passenger door on my 70 C-10 (in need of total restoration) was not completely closed. The upper hinge is broken and it needs to be closed from the outside. So I went to close it, but with the light from my security light, I saw someone inside. I always carry as a precaution but before I yanked I saw this guy was passed out. Seriously passed out. From alcohol and who knows what else. I called the community service van, but the Sheriffs deputy came right out. The deputy tried to rouse this guy but no go, and he called an ambulance. The ambulance came out and took the guy away, treating him for hypothermia, never waking. It was 28 degrees outside and this guy is wearing a long sleeve shirt, long pants and flip flops. He would not have survived the night with the temps getting into the lower 20s to upper teens.

This guy owes his life to the fact my wife cooked her strange loking and smelly seafood and I had to throw out the unedible leftovers.

So how was everyones Thanksgiving?

Whoa, that's crazy. I'm going to tell my wife that our trucks can save lives, probably won't tell her how but definitely that I should be working on it as often as I can.

Tough to beat a comatose body Zeldman, but here's a couple of things I found in my '67 during the initial clean up. Some polishing compound and a freebase spoon. I'm sure the drugs made them very optimistic about how well that polishing compound was going to work on this truck.

What I found in my 68' - a Manatoba license plate under the seat, a corroded .22 shell in the glovebox, a complete unused set of u-joints & the carrier bearing in the passenger side floorboard, the original jack & handle behind the seat & a bumper jack in the bed of the truck
