Exclamation Is This Not The Craziest Thing You Ever Saw?

Hey, I found this photo while surfing the net, and I just can't get over how crazy this thing is. I mean it is just plain cool. I know alot of you guys are hellbent on keeping things stock on your trucks, and I am one of those guys.

Now as far as bodywork goes, I do like chopped tops, and scalloped hoods, but thats it. Anything past that I don't much care for, as far as custom bodywork goes.

But I have come across a few off the wall custom '67-'72 GM trucks, that I do like, and this is one of them.

Also if anybody has any photos of this truck, I would love to see more photos of it, so please share them if you got them.

I posted that same picture in the "Sumthin' Differnt" thread in General Disco. I like it for it's fun factor over it's looks. It looks cool being built from a Chevy Truck, which makes it cooler to me. But,just imagine driving that thing! Boy Boy's got him a go cart!!

This has been posted a couple times in the past. Here's a link to a Craigslist ad posted a few weeks ago. Many more pictures in the for sale ad.

I could agree more. That is a cool little small block thought for sure. I'd like to have it to pull behind the 71.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

I had to laugh when I read that. I'm not sure I'd run the little fella, or whatever it is, over - but I never quite got the whole cabbage patch reject doll thing, or why they were always displayed as if they were being punished, standing in the corner and facing away. CPS oughta look into that....

Re: Is This Not The Craziest Thing You Ever Saw?

This truck was built by a friend of mine named bob. He took a 67-72 truck and shrunk all the panels, narrowed the frame and used s-10 suspension up front. His family is very talented, one brother did body work and interior work, bob worked on his own vehicles for fun, a nephew is a very good mechanic. I believe bob's intend was to do "something different"

Re: Is This Not The Craziest Thing You Ever Saw?

I have judged dozens of car shows over the years, and always hated those goofy dolls too. On several occasions, I had to move one to check certain parts of the car for quality, detail, etc. One guy had a doll sitting on the drivers side of the car with his hands velcroed to the steering wheel. When I lifted the doll, I could see the huge split in the driver side seat cushion. Another time, one was placed just in front of the rear wheel. When I moved it, there was a rust bubble the size of a softball. The doll was hiding the rust really well.

I could go on and on about how those dumb dolls are used to disquise a flaw on a car. Now, after all these years of judging car shows whenever I see "Raggedy Andy" placed on a car at a show I automatically deduct 10 points before I even go over to the car.

I'm not sure I'd buy or build one like this, but I think it's really interesting and certainly respect the skill and effort that it took to build it. It does look very well done. It'd be neat to see it in person. It's really an attention getter.

Re: Is This Not The Craziest Thing You Ever Saw?

Last year at our local weekly summer cruise night "Cruisin Grand", I watched a little girl run over to one of these dolls, peek over it's shoulder and run back to her group yelling "he's not peeing Grampa". The shrunken C/10 is KOOOOL.

Re: Is This Not The Craziest Thing You Ever Saw?

This truck is up for sale on Craigslist now (disclaimer: Not mine, nor do I know the owner.... but I did see it once at a show).

Lots of good pictures in the ad.
