Not necessarily. It's a common misconception among all the carpet manufacturers/sellers.

Firstowner is correct "Not necessarily". You can just look in the truck, unless you're lazy like I am. I once googled info instead of walking 20 foot to my truck.

With Trim Parts, I went with a newer style. I did the cut pile, and not the loop "original" style. I wonder if those Trim parts people just really like trucks, I've heard some people say "cut this..." "didn't fit that..." but it always seems to be on car forums. My carpet was a PERFECT fit for my 70 C20.

Re: best carpet sets and who to buy from??

My LMC carpet was a perfect fit (the tank carpet is for non-bucket trucks, but the floor fit). There are some snags where the loop has been pulled, it's really not the best quality by any means - but it fit.

The nice thing about a tailored fit rather than having to cut it yourself is that, at least in the LMC case, you get the sewn edges and vinyl trim that you wouldn't otherwise.

What makes that important is up by the kick panels, which we don't have. On a Camaro or Impala or whatever you'd tuck the carpet under the kick panel, but without those we need a finished edge.

I wound up on this thread because my LMC carpet lacks a dimmer switch hole. And they didn't give me a grommet even (are they supposed to?). So that's annoying.
