Electric window question

I bought a '57 3100. It came with an electric window kit, uninstalled. I want to put it in, however, I have a question regarding the switches. I have seen switches that use the original window crank arm. Has anybody else used this type? If so, where did you purchase it and what kind is it? I look at my manual crank and there are two bolts holding it to the door. The electric switches I've seen have a three bolt design. Can anyone shed some light on that for me?

Thanks,
Rick

Re: Electric window question

I have the power window switches that use the original window cranks. They work great and my doors inside look completely stock. They aren't a direct bolt on, you'll need to drill holes in your doors to match the switches.

Lots of places sell them, I bought mine from Carolina Customs.

Re: Electric window question

I thought I would chime in.

I had wanted to install a set of these window switches in the original window crank location but they would not fit there. They will work if you relocate to a different location.

I decided to buy a metal hole plug (from hardware store) to fill in the original hand crank hole. I moved my power window switch to a different location.
