Isn't that a NP205 shifter correct for 1970?

Re: HELP!!! ID this transfer case shift lever please

Not an expert...but I agree with Pete...70 CST. Here's a thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=306053

I thought the bent TC shifters were 4sp trucks (ala the attached pic), and the autos (like my 70) were straight...but the above thread further enlightened me to the consistent inconsistencies in these trucks.

Edit: I also recognize that the below pic is not your shifter either...just used it because it shows a 4sp with the TC shifter tilted toward the driver like yours does.

Another vote for a 1970 205 shifter with a 4 speed.

1-9-7-0-k-5-10-20>>> BINGO!!

Late '69,too, right? Is this simply GM's first NP205 shifter? I think so

Re: HELP!!! ID this transfer case shift lever please

I agree with it being a 1970 item, Although all the ones I have seen with the extreme top bend were for 4 spds, I have a 1970 one that came with a T350, it has the same lower bend but the top part is not bent off to the side, it has the same upper bend as the 71/72 style.

Re: HELP!!! ID this transfer case shift lever please

Thank you all for the input. I also thought is was from a 70 model but not sure which application, auto, manual trans, K5/10/20 or all of the above.

So, we have a late 1969/1970 CST transfer case lever for all engine/trans combinations with a NP205 case.

I appreciate the feedback,
Take care,
Tom

Were all the first NP205 '69s like the '70s or were '69s a one year only design, too?

That is a good question Tim and I would be interested in seeing the difference if there is any.

Take care,
Tom

Re: HELP!!! ID this transfer case shift lever please

I've always thought of these as '70-only shifters. The only original '69 4wd I've had was a Blazer 3spd/Dana20. I've never heard mention of a 69-only NP205 shiifter and it wouldn't be like GM to be so fickle with parts.

Re: HELP!!! ID this transfer case shift lever please

I've had two 69 4WDs, one 3 speed, one 4 speed, both had the Rockwell transfer cases. All the 69s that I've seen had the Rockwells. Was the 205 a late in the year change?
