Smile 9ft Step Side

I am building a 1968 1 ton pickup. This truck is a little different tho, I put a Detroit Diesel 6V53t in it. For the bed I decided to go for a 9ft step side, I found one but the bed strips and side stripes are too far gone. Does anyone have a 9ft stepside, that I could get the bolt hole locations to have the stripes made? Some please help me! I really want to get this truck done!

Re: 9ft Step Side

First thing you need to know is that Mar-K company in Oklahoma is the main bed parts company in the business. They are a fantastic company that makes their products right in Oklahoma for a very much working man's budget price.

http://www.mar-k.com/Catalog/catalog.aspx

Just punch in your truck info and buy what you need. In this case, I punched in 71 model LONG STEP bed and got seven choices of bed strips from original steel all the way up to polished stainless with hidden fasteners. A basic steel original type strip is part number 110056 and costs 10 dollars each. This is prepunched with factory holes already.

Angle strips, prepunched with factory holes, are 36 dollars per pair. Part number 110156.

I can highly vouch for Mar-K. Several trucks I've built were with their parts. Fantastic bunch to deal with.

Re: 9ft Step Side

Deerelindel,

It is true that we can fix you up with bed strips for pretty much any vehicle (and sometimes things other than vehicles), but we do not have the stock pattern for that bed so you would not be able to order online.

We can:

1. Punch custom square holes in strips and angles if you provide a pattern (which I understand is what you are trying to obtain....
2. Cut strips/angles to the exact length you need and you drill the holes as needed,
3. Cut a bed strip with hidden bolts to the length you need and you can move the fasteners as needed. However, there is no hidden bolt system for angle strips so this would require either custom holes or no holes "drill your own" angles cut to length.

Feel free to give us a call at 405-721-7945 to discuss options or obtain pricing.

Re: 9ft Step Side

I know where one is, they guy turned it into a trailer. Breaks my heart every time I see it. That had to be a pretty cool truck at one point. I've thought about dropping in and seeing if I could buy the trailer just for the bed. I'm sure I could find something to put it on.

If you haven't already done so, type "9 ft bed" into the Google search box at the top of this page, click on the circle in front of "67-72chevytrucks.com", and click on the Google button. You may find something there.

I have searched and they are all older threads and most of them are people pulling pics off the internet

Re: 9ft Step Side

Well I do happen to have a 9' (pretty sure it's 9 foot)step side bed on a 3/4 ton GMC truck. Problem is it's about 3.5 hours away on my mountain property. I was just up there last Friday and would have been glad to get those measurements for you but I didn't see this post until today. If you are unable to get those by the time I go up next I will get whatever measurements u need.

What difference would that make if one of them happened to have the measurements on a picture or in the text?
