new alternator

assume you have no wiring harness currently. A small block 350. drivers side alternator with a long water pump. 10si style brackets.
not going to have any fancy additional power requirements. basic radio, heater, Factory AC, HID headlights.
What alternator would you get? Brand? Amps?

Re: new alternator

12si 94 amp should be more than sufficient. Rock Auto has ACDelco rebuilt ones for about $80. Wire it up for 3 wire operation. See this from MAD.

Re: new alternator

You could go as low as 74 amp and it should be fine.

Oh, A driver side alternator on our trucks equates to a short water pump not a long one.
