Re: CL Motherload of 67-72 Blazers, Burbs, Trucks

he has a mint shortbox stepside box for sale for $400 I was thinking about buying it and swapping out my spare tire fender for the full one and then reselling the box but a local body shop guy told me you can't use an original shortbox fender on a long box because the wheel well is different I'm thinking bs because I already have a shortbox fender with spare cutout on my longbox. Am I right or am I going to run into an issue?

I believe the fender will work.
What is the story on that blazer? Is the tub solid? I have a rusty blazer and need a solid tub. I would buy a whole blazer if I had to.

Not sure what it would take to swap the fenders, never tried.
Two years ago I went looking and there turned out to be as many as eight different service part, stepside fenders between 67-72. Unfortunately the numbers are incomplete from my 79 parts manual. So if anyone can fill the missing numbers and or earlier numbers that would be great.
From the listing it looks like the spare tire well is the difference between the 115" and the 127/133" fenders w/spare.
But since the wo/spare left fenders are the same part for all WBs you should be good there. Also since you state your existing fender is a 115" w/spare (are you sure?) it should also bolt up nicely.

Re: CL Motherload of 67-72 Blazers, Burbs, Trucks

I've already inserted my foot in mouth on that fender before, apparently my all original one owner truck isn't as original as I thought. anyhow quite awhile back I made the mistake a commenting on why chevy didn't put the spare tire centered in the cut out instead off making it look stupid off to the side of it, anyhow you guys sorted me out and now I just want this fender off the truck even thought about putting in the for sale and see if anybody wanted to trade. I found the thread where I was educated http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=589608&page=2

the primer on it is from me had the truck parked for a decade and the sun really did a number on that one fender.

it belong's to a mega hoard here in Billings the tub looks to be in pretty good condition but he wants $2500 for it. He think's he still has some seats and other odd's and ends that go with it.

nothing yet I did finally speak to him a couple weeks back on a separate deal and he basically told me kindly he's not interested in selling anything and to leave him alone. if he does decide to sell it will be to one person only locally.

Searched Billings but couldn't find the package. Do you remember how he had listed the ad?

Quick google search. From FloMo to billings is 18 hours one way. Almost 2600miles round trip. I'll look for the CL ads
