Give Me Your $.02 on What Halfbreed is Worth

I've got this guy at work who says he would like to buy my truck. I told him I would think about it over the weekend and discuss it further this coming week. For those of you who might not know whom or what Halfbreed is here's a quick summary and the link to the build is in my sig. Obviously a difficult truck to put a value on.

Halfbreed is the bodies of 2 mid '60's International Harvester trucks grafted onto the running, rolling chassis of a '96 GMC Xcab. On the chassis side of things - it's almost a bone stock 5.7l Vortec with 4l60E, cruise control, HVAC, cats, computer, wire harnesses et cetera. Lowering coils on the front and a drop shackle out back. On the body side it's a one off XCab with 7" taken out of the rear IH doors, 11" out of a fleetside longbed, 2.5" out of the nose, a little bit of pancake to the hood. I've been driving this truck daily since Nov of 2010 and have about 40,000+ miles on her.

The truck is titled as a 1967 IH pickup.

So if you were me and were entertaining a possible legit offer to buy the truck... what price would you ask? Thanks guys.

with everything you have put into that truck and as nice as I believe it to be, I would say at least $30-40K.

It certainly shouldn't be priced as a '67 IH. I would say realistically 15 to 20K (we never get our money and time back), but if you are on the fence about selling, price it higher. If he is just sweating to have it, he will pony up. If he just wants a nice truck to drive, he will move on.

FYI: Your IH is one of the builds I point out to people showing what kind of talent is on this site. You made it look like a caveman could do it.

Re: Give Me Your $.02 on What Halfbreed is Worth

Thanks for the feedback guys - it's helpful! In my opinion the truck isn't in the $XX,XXX league it's in the $Y,YYY league. It probably looks OK on the internet but live it's a 20 footer. All that welding was my first go at it and 100 feet later I'm probably just now truly ready to take on what I did. So whomever gets it after me will probably want to redo some of my work.

I certainly had the creative vision and my basic fab skills were OK but the exterior bodywork is pretty crude. That being said - it IS a cool and very unique truck. I get an admirer at least every other day that I drive it.

I can't remember the last time I saw a '67 Binder crew cab for sale, much less one modernized. I think it is a $XX,XXX truck. Where in that range is up to you. I would not sell yourself short.

I think your under estimating yourself a bit, i think you should try and bump up to the 15 range at least.
