Who sells the best full-exhaust systems?

Manifold to tip on a 250 in a C-10 long bed? I tore mine up today coming home from the inlaws cabin.

Dang it. If you look close, you can see a big dent in the muffler:

Since this whole system was more-or-less cobbled together anyway, I want to get it replaced with a good, correct one.

LMC sells a real nice mandrel bent full exhaust system. I have it on my truck, it's even aluminized tubing. Great system for $139. Comes with clamps, donut, and hangers.

Any muffler shop will do it for like $250-300 with a flowmaster or whatever muffler you want. I got a full mandrill bent true dual pipes with 2 40 series flows for 475 so yours should be half that

I've used this one before. Good stuff for the price.

Re: Who sells the best full-exhaust systems?

I vote muffler shop, I have the lmc kit for the 250, it hung way too low, I don't like to look at my truck and see the exhaust. I like it tucked up close. So I had to do the extra work of shortening the frontpipe a few inches. Also aluminized is extra work to weld cause yo gotta grind off the coating to get a nice weld, I pearsonally don't believe in bolt on exhaust, they will leak. So to me, this thing is junk. A lot of people are often saying how happy they are with it though. Muffler shop!

Yeah, I've always been a muffler shop devotee, but I was just wondering what was out there. The LMC seems like a good deal, but I think it will 2 bills by the time it hits my front porch. Time is another consideration. I need my truck. I'm still trying to decide.

Drive to a muffler shop and see what they can do for you. I too like my exhaust to be tucked up all nice and tight. If all else fails you leave knowing what you want

Re: Who sells the best full-exhaust systems?

I would take it to a muffler shop in a heartbeat and let them work their magic. Every truck is different and needs a custom setup IMO for the best possible routing and ensuring no rattles or clearance issues. There are just too many variables to consider for me to buy any do-it-yourself kit.

Re: Who sells the best full-exhaust systems?

I bought a kit from LMC as well. I am happy with it. One of the deciding factors for buying it vs going to a shop was I couldn't find anyone that what do aluminized mandrel bent pipe. Everyone that did mandrel bent was stainless steel only. They all wanted around $1500 (!)

I believe the LMC kit is made by heartthrob, but LMC had the same pricing, so...

The only issue I had was all of the parts marked left were actually right and vice versa. When I started installing it, nothing would fit, so I started experimenting and figured it out.

Mine has a good sound but not too loud, way quieter than 2 chamber flowmasters.

Re: Who sells the best full-exhaust systems?

I wish Walker started doing ours (though 3/4 Longhorn wouldn't be their first one anyway) as they have the rep as the most authentic. Since there are no authentic ones, I've been using Dynomax on all my projects. Unlike FM they're quiet at idle and part throttle, no drone, yet get very aggressive at WOT.

I'd never used one before until a restoration shop did on one of my cars and I was so happy with it they're all I've used since.

Re: Who sells the best full-exhaust systems?

I took mine to a local muffler shop and had a custom system made. It was $205. The muffler was a cheap turbo job that lasted about 2 years. I put a Dynomax on it after that. I paid $70 for that muffler. I am putting a 402 in it soon and will be looking for a system for that next.

Re: Who sells the best full-exhaust systems?

I would definitely check with local shop first.
I went with the LMC but bought directly from Heartthrob (320-693-0222) without mufflers 3 yrs ago. Kit still looks good. Installed 18" magnaflows. Ended up paying a local shop $110. to correct exit bends and weld joints a few months ago.
