You have better self control than me

My shortbed isn't done, but it has a 4/6 drop which leaves no rake since factory stance is a 2" rake. I may change that to a 4/4 to gain some rake to lend to the "from era" vibe my truck is going for. Then again, I'm considering using bags in place of coils in the rear so I can haul/tow w/o hacking the frame. Then it can be rake of the day...or not.

Re: whats your rake?

Nice GMC, 69 MOD Let me take a scientific approach here. My "Rake" is achieved by stock springs upfront with 2-1/2" drop spindles lowered it approximately a smidge and a half. Then by removing 3 Leafs (that's right, Leafs) in the rear combined with fabbing my own hangers at the rear tweaked it like maybe 3.5 more or less than a skoosch or two. No "C" notch needed

Re: whats your rake?

Static drop 3/5 with 1" taller rear tire to give it a slight rubber rake.

Re: whats your rake?

Ground to center of wheel opening. 25.5" front 27" back. Currently have 2 1/2 drop spindles, 2" drop springs but added a 5/8 spacer to gain fender clearance. 6" rear drop springs, 3" body dropped. Rear meats 31" tall, front tires 27" tall

Re: whats your rake?

You guys measuring to the arch of the wheel opening need to bare in mind the wheel openings on the front are taller than the rear in relation to the bottom line of the body. If it measures the same distance from the ground to that point means the truck has a rake. To sit level the front measurement will be greater. So a 1.5" difference makes for something lie a 3" rake. A lot of 4wd guys think their rear end is lower when they judge by the wheel openings when their truck is in fact level.

Talking Re: whats your rake?

Well that's cool I never knew that. I was just giving my measurement for others to compare. I really don't care about the actual #'s I always go buy what my eye likes to see...lol

Re: whats your rake?

Right. That's what I saw with carpentry on old houses. The level and square are great for reference, but what matters is how the eye sees it. You can be level and look more crooked than dividing the difference.

Look at your lower rear fender, rocker, and bottom of bed in front of the tire. I bet it's at least a 3" difference there. Just look at the shadow cast...not that it is a true reference due to maybe being cast at on angle. All I know is my eye says that's a nice rake, about what I want on mine...whatever it is

So this made me curious, I went to the garage and put the 4' level on my box and measured my rake...

2 3/4" is the number from what I thought was 4"
And yes my floor is level, I'm in the concrete business.
