fuel filter flow

hi,
i just realized today that my mechinic installed my fuel filter backwards ( the flow arrow is pointing towards the fuel tank). the truck is running good, so does that mean the fuel filter that i have works in either direction and its not an issue that its backwards?
its been this way for the past few months.

ill attach a pic of the kind of filter i have

Re: fuel filter flow

Personally, I'd take it back to him and ask for a new filter, not just turn this one around. If there's any dirt in it, if you turn it around, it'll get blown out of the filter into the carb(or injectors).
