Re: You can own this truck for just 70k

This truck is no better than many trucks built by members here or anywhere you go. It's very common to see trucks built to this level. There are tons of trucks owned by members here that never haul, get driven very little, possibly trailered to shows, and you can't leave them parked anywhere. But I'm pretty sure most of those are valued at about 1/2 of this truck's asking price. We all know it is harder to build an all original truck using factory parts than a catalog truck like this. Just last year a very talented member here built and sold a stunning black & white w/parchment interior big block '72 Cheyenne Super SWB all factory down to the wheel covers for half this price. That's what I'm talking about. I don't hate anyone, but I don't like greedy people at all. I also don't like profiteers running the prices of these trucks up for their short sighted personal benefit. No one is holding a gun to anyone's head here. If someone comes up with the booty for a truck worth 1/2 what they pay, then more power to the fool with more money than sense

I can only speak for the 71. GMC had the leaf springs. Chevrolet had coils, but leaf springs were an option. My C10 has the leaf springs, supported by the SPID.

Disagree. Pretty sure if I bought a $3000 truck and asked the most talented person on this site to build me the exact truck, the price tag would be pretty close to what it is selling for.

I disagree... The guy who built that truck probably had a shop do it all of it, if not most of the work. And we all know what a decent shop would charge. I don't know too many guys on this forum who wouldn't want to do the work themselves.

This truck was clearly built for shows.

A while back this guy saw my Suburban (avatar pic) parked at my brothers property. We were clearing land for his house.. Anyways this guy asked my brother if I would sell him my truck. I told my brother to ask him how long he had been searching for one. My brother told me he said, " no I haven't been looking. I just thought it was neat." I replied-" that's exactly why I won't sell it to him."
He just wanted it to have it. And once the novelty wore off he would probably sell it or let it go to the junk.
Everyone on this forum has one thing in common- a passion for this body style. But even sometimes a passion gives way to greed and sloth.

Re: You can own this truck for just 70k

We all have opinions and I don't need people to agree with mine. All I'll say is just because you spent $70k on a truck that doesn't make it worth $70k.

Re: You can own this truck for just 70k

He would have a better chance at 70K if it were a short bed truck. People with deep pockets that are looking for a trailer queen custom like this are looking for a "sport" truck not a work truck, even though it is obvious this truck will never be used for work. I have NOTHING against long bed trucks, I own one and drive it daily. From what I have seen, the only long bed trucks that bring good money are ones that are totally original survivors, or ones that have been restored to original, which this truck is neither. Nothing against this truck at all, it is stellar and will turn heads and win awards in shows no doubt...I just don't think it will bring 70K. My opinion only.

Re: You can own this truck for just 70k

Considering he has a 14K engine/tranny combo I think the 69,900.00 price tag is extremely fair... I have over 60K in Raymond as of now and probably have another 20-25K to go...

Re: You can own this truck for just 70k

You can smoke a cigar in my truck if you like! I roll into the parking lot and park in the first spot without haste.... who cares about door dings! There's lot's of things I would, will and have spent 70k on. Just not seeing the value or utility on this one.

If you got em smoke em!

You know that is what is great about this hobby... We all can enjoy our trucks the way WE like them... I drove Raymond as a POS for 10 years and was always embarrassed so she is getting taken over the top.. Now Haulin on the other hand is made to be a real nice "driver"...
