Fuel gauge

I have a LMC rear tank conversion 16 gal in my 68 GMC.It reads one notch over a quarter tank when full and goes down to empty like normal .I have the correct sender and Gauge .How do i repair it to read correctly?Any help is greatly appreciated.Oz

You have to verify that the sender reads 90-0 ohms resistance while the arm is moving.

If that reads okay, then the issue is with the gauge or the resistor.

I just had a similar fault, but mine read 1/4 tank to empty. I replaced the whole gauge as I couldn't find out if it were the gauge or the resistor on the back (I had 2 of each and no combination worked).

The gauge fixed my problem.

Also, make sure your tank is properly grounded, and that there are no breaks in the wire from the fuse panel to the sender.
