Mirror quandry

Any idea how to adjust this so the mirrors straight? Almost as if the top arm is too long but it's same as the other side.

Re: Mirror quandry

You'll have to bend the tabs a little where the bolt holes are to make it straight.

Thanks I wasn't sure. That stainless is tough!

Those are "below-eye-line" and are OEM, I believe. They are coded the SPID sheet.

To my knowledge, they are NOT reproduced. My truck came with them originally, but due to a deer strike on the passenger side, and a side-wipe while parked in the street on the drivers side....both were lost.

I found my replacements on the parts board here on this site. They pop up every now and then. You just have to be persistent. But you are a premium member, so you could just post a WTB there on the parts board. They came in stainless, or painted.

Re: Mirror quandry

On a funny note, my "new" mirrors are still running around on the parts board in this thread:

2nd pic down. But they've been straightened, powder coated, and have new glass now.

Re: Mirror quandry

Far from an expert but I don't think those are factory. Both dad and I have the same mirrors only one has white frames one stainless or whatever it is

Both of ours don't mount to the exterior of the rear of the mirror as the one pictures above. Ours pivot internally. If needed I'll get a pic tomorrow

Yeah, not exactly sure what to call them....factory vs. oem, but how do they make it on the SPID sheet if they are not one or the other?

I know the mirrors you have on your truck. They are a later version. I know my brother-in-law's '79 Chevy has them.
