Alignment problem - Center Grill Support
Hoping some of you guys who've tore into things a bit can shed some light. '68 C10. We all know the grill has the two full width openings and the turn signals sit in the lower opening. For some reason the turn signals in ours were sitting in the top opening. My son and I decided to switch them to where they belong in the lower opening. Not a huge problem other then the little nut like pieces that really suck.
The problem we have is the center support. It looks like this one... http://www.usa1industries.com/1967-6...e-support.html The lights have a flat bar the mounts to the bottom of the grill opening. That bar, when placed in the lower opening won't clear the support. It should fit in that lower curved area, but if the support is in the right place, the mount bracket hits it too low. Now granted I can cut the thing, but something isn't right. When the signals and mount bar were in the wrong spot, it cleared, but at the wrong place on the support bracket. Hope all that makes sense. Can anyone give any tips or show pics of how theirs aligns? It looks like it will catch where the red arrow is. It should fit in the curve where the green arrow is. |

Re: Alignment problem - Center Grill Support
the top front bolt hole of the support goes to the front passengers side bolt hole of the latch not the second hole .the cutout on the top of the support allows the support to go further forward .Put the top support bolts in first and the rest will line up .

Yeah. That I knew. Just holding it there for illustration. The alignment problem I see is more of an issue vertically. Will try again, but it sure doesn't seem like it'll go.

Yeah. Something's not right. It simply won't clear.
