Door problems

Hey guys, is there a trick to getting door adjusted? I put a new upper hinge on and am having a hard time getting it adjusted to close right.

Re: Door problems

I don't know at what point your truck is. If you did this without removing the fender it is harder to do. I had the fenders off while doing alignment of the doors. I start with some wooden paint sticks. Place the amount needed on the rocker panel under the door. Then place the door into the opening. Add or take out till the door fits the opening. adjust up and down and back to front to get the gaps acceptable. Then snug the bolts on the hinge. This will change the door location sometimes requiring some more adjustments. Remember the bolts on the front A post adjust front to back and up and down. The bolts on the door itself adjust the door in and out. This takes a some time but can be done. If you still have the fender on you can still do this but the bolts can be harder to access. Hope this makes sense to you and you are able to complete your alignment.

Re: Door problems

Not that I have been incredibly successful at this, but I used my engine hoist and some ratcheting straps to help support the door, this made things a lot easier on my back. I got the door close and ended up adjust the latch on the cab.
