Question LMC 3 Point Seat Belts in 69

Anyone here have any pictures of how they mounted the LMC belts (retractor section) of their 3 point belts to the factory mounts? In my opinion there's no way they are a direct bolt in installation. It also seems the retractor mount on the driver's side doesn't fit very well with the gas tank. If no one here has any great thoughts, these may get sent back. These look like they would work better but are more expensive: http://www.seatbeltsplus.com/product/CHT6872-Bench.html

Thanks!

Re: LMC 3 Point Seat Belts in 69

The first thing I did when I bought my truck was to install 3-point seat belts, from LMC.
You are right - the driver side one is not a direct bolt-in unless you are happy with the belt rubbing on the tank.
I made a pair of brackets from 2"x2"x1/8" angle. The bolt into the original bolt hole, but I also put in second bolt right below the retractor. You will need to open up the angle of the angle steel a bit from the 90 degrees to make everything fit right.
You don't need it on the passenger side, but it just seemed better to have both sides the same.
Hope this helps.

Here is what you need. These are high quality belts. I have these in my El Camino. Getting ready to buy a set for my 72 truck. https://www.mtgiparts.com/store/inde...roduct_id=1216

Thanks guys for confirming I wasn't imagining things and that these are not a direct bolt in replacement. I'm going to return them for something else that will work better with less hassle.

These are the belts I am going to install in my truck once I finally decide on the right color. They are a direct bolt-in with no modifications and you will be supporting those that keep this forum free!

Re: LMC 3 Point Seat Belts in 69

I just ordered the kit from Brothers and plan to install this weekend in my '69 C20. The kit includes a mounting bracket for the driver's side retractor. I'll post pics (contingent on hanging 40 sheets of drywall in my basement first).
