Pete I love that truck.

Now, where did you find the steelies?

Thanks,

Re: 1972 GMC K1500 Green/White LWB One Owner

Thanks guys! I'm hoping to remove the top soon and will post pics when I do. The added leafs were a good way to go in terms of ride and cost. It's tight still, no appreciable change in quality. Hoping the rear doesn't rise 6" once the top is off and the aux tanks are tapped out I just swapped the "deluxe" marker lenses shown for a NOS set of the correct "non-deluxe" maker lamps.

Larry - those steelies came from a member here. I purchased them through the parts board. I made a mistake by sealing the seams with clear silicone hoping to keep crud and water out after they were powder coated. The silicone got dirty real quick and sticks out like a sore thumb. Doh!

Still contemplating a highlander conversion. Here's an example interior from a GMC HL in green:

Re: 1972 GMC K1500 Green/White LWB One Owner

Thanks for the good words guys! I'll get some more pics up as soon.

I had the area of rust on the floor board that involved the inner rockers and a small portion of the LH lower kick panel repaired with panel bond. I'm told that is strong stuff that should last and since there is no other rust and the outer rockers are solid it seemed like a good way to go for now.

I know this is a old thread, but what did you do with the canopy off of the Montana G.M.C.?
