Has anyone seen hubcaps like this before?

These are the two front hubcaps from my '70 K10. I've scoured the internet and can not find any pictures or literature of the time that show these hubcaps. I believe them to be original, as my truck is a two owner survivor that has never had any mods. It is a no frill work truck, and is a very early '70 as I have the original sales receipt and it was purchased in the fall of '69. The closest thing I found were 1970 impala hubcaps, but they are slightly different and are more "chromish". These appear to have always been sort of a "dull" finish. Simple unpainted, chevy bowtie in the rear, and the center punched out in the front for the locking hubs. I don't think I can rework these to a presentable level and would like to keep everything the way it was when it left the factory in PA. Am I out of luck here?

I don't remember these from when I worked at the dealer(s) on and off from '70-'72, but I can put you in touch with a guy who is a real wizard with stainless trim moldings on vintage cars who could probably make those look like new.

The 2 on the right match yours, the 2 on the left are more "chromeish"

Re: Has anyone seen hubcaps like this before?

Thanks for the info. It does appear they are late 60's or early 70's passenger car poverty caps. Maybe the dealer put them on? Did some trucks come with no hub-caps? The only other option this truck had was an AM radio and I have documentation that it was installed by the dealer. As I look at the two cutouts in the fronts they do appear to be a secondary operation, but whoever did it, did a very nice job.

Re: Has anyone seen hubcaps like this before?

They definitely are the full-size car hubcaps. If it was a base model or Custom w/o chrome hubcap option it had no caps from factory.

Re: Has anyone seen hubcaps like this before?

I seem to recall white hub caps on the lower base trucks, and that ALL trucks had hub caps, as a minimum. Is my memory failing?

Re: Has anyone seen hubcaps like this before?

We're talking 4wds. No painted hubcaps with holes in middle for hubs that I can recall ever seeing. 60-68s got no hubcaps, not even CST
