New to site. 55 series 1

Hello everyone,

Just got my dream truck this January and have done some major engine work already. The truck is a 1955 series 1, Mustang II front end, 350 ci., TH400 and a 373 rear end. The motor was basically stock when I got it and I have scince rebuilt the whole thing from Crank up. Just got it running again on Friday afternoon.

Here are some pics....of the truck and the engine. More later if interested?

Wow -- that's a sweet ride, HeatWave!

I bought mine 14 months ago and have just finished nailing all the mechanical stuff I wanted to get to ... now I'm ready to start doing the interior up!

I've NEVER had so much fun!!! I've decided that if I ever "finish" this one, I'll HAVE TO get another!!!

Alan,

Your truck looks great! One problem I'm having is aligning the hood. I have directions on how to do it but it involves dropping the fenders down and sounds really involved. I guess I'll have to tackle that next. What are your plans for your interior? I'm looking at a site called www.roddoors.com. they have some cool stuff.

good luck,

There's a lot involved in aligning the hood -- so I've heard ... the fenders and grill, even the cab, all effect how it sits. Plus you have to remember these truck were built for work and never did line up like a car's components would.

I'm gonna do all original stuff to my interior, except the seats. First I want to find a nice pair of seats (like Lincoln power seats) out of a new wreck at the junkyard -- no high-backs -- then, according to the color of the seats, I'll start designing my interior. I want to do a lot of hand-stitching ... I'm thinking about an overhead console, too. I'm gonna make my own panels and cover them with my own designs.
