Does anybody know the story on these turn signal switches??

Late last winter I noticed that Classic Parts was selling what look to be the original style turn signal switches with the RED emergency flasher trigger instead of the more modern round version.

http://www.classicparts.com/1967-72-.../#.WToUTGjys2w

On April 16 I placed an order for one of these switches (along with a few other bits and pieces) but the darn switch hasn't even gotten ON the boat to the US yet, much less shipped to my door.

I've also noticed that some of the other vendors have their turn signal switches on sale, as if they are trying to sell down their stock in anticipation of this more "correct" version.

Does anybody know the story on when we'll see these show up? I've placed a couple of calls to Classic Parts' non-customer service dept, and they are of zero help.

Thoughts?

You can still find NOS ones on Ebay. Anything aftermarket is always suspect.

I think I have one of these I ordered from Classic Parts over a year ago. It's in my tool box, waiting for me to put it in.

Re: Does anybody know the story on these turn signal switches??

I have an odd update to this thread. My original post was 4 days ago. I was finally prompted to make that initial post because I'd received an email from Classic Parts THAT DAY saying the the part was still on back order, but they wanted me to know that they would ship the part as soon as it arrives from their supplier. The email also gave me the option to opt out and cancel the order if I wanted to.

Four days later (today) THIS showed up in the mail.

This thing must have shipped right after my post! It makes me wonder if someone from Classic Parts watches our posts here.

They probably do. Image is everything in the parts business. How do you wish to be perceived. It does look very period correct.

Yes, I guess I forgot to mention that I was very pleased with this switch. Very "correct" looking to the original. I'm thrilled with it, and of course, very happy that Classic Parts takes care of their customers like this.
