I'm right next door in Utah. SLC has a pretty rigid standard (dyno testing) but my 72 and 70 have never had problems passing. As far as the visual, you're not required to have any equipment that wasn't on the vehicle when it was built, so you shouldn't have too much problem. Depending on what you're running, you might want to put in a fresh set of plugs, change the oil, and reset the timing to factory specs.
