I am doing an ls swap and I have read that some members have modified the original battery tray to fit on the driver side and I was wondering if any one has done a write up or maybe has pictures of how they made it fit and work on the driver side. Thanks

If you use the auxillary (spelling) battery tray the holes are already there, factory

You have to take the tray apart, (separate into two sides and the bottom) switch the two sides with each other and weld it back together. Or buy the aux tray. Either way, you have to drill at least one mounting hole in the core support.

It’s funny, I’m actually doing that very thing right now. I’m having to add 2 holes the aux tray, but my truck is a ‘67. I think the later trucks have more holes in the firewall.

I already separated the pieces but i guess i am not very imaginative because i dont see how to switch the around unless i use some angle to support the tray. Thats kinda why i was hoping for pictures.

Check the boards for an auxiliary battery tray. If none there, Brother's sells them.

I plan to buy the brothers aux tray assy, just to have extra cranking power, although I don't need it...just my choice!!!
