Sooooooo when the turbo comes about will it be with EFI also ? just saying have seen a lot of tuning problems with a turbo & carb as a turbo with EFI work much better.

Re: Rockdrillers '63 K1000

Well, it runs out quite nicely...
The oil pressure hangs out above fourty, engine hot an idling just under 500..
Sixty cold.
Over on Jolly's site, the VeeSix guys say that the older....higher milers will show as low as 10 psi at idle and are still considered good-to-go.
I checked the tolerances while I had it on the stand and she seemed tight as far as I could tell. It felt tight enough so I didn't deem it necessary to plasti-gauge it.
I guess I did ok.

I ended up with a tranny leak.....chapped my hide.
I felt pretty good about it once I located it....It's that dang wreckin yard dipstick/fill tube.
It's got a crack at the hold-down bracket. It appears that it only leaks....and not really a gusher, either.....when yer pouring juice down it.
I'll probably braze it in the mornin....
I'll deffinately bolt the sheet metal back on.

BTW.....d-jams..
It appears yer thinkin for me.
I think that's a great idea.
This ol' work-horse would probly love that.
Fer now....I'm just chompin at the bit to get out an drive it with this Q-Jet on it....fine tune it a bit to the engine.
It sure fired up and ran like a top considering it's set up with basic bench adjustments.

Looking good Rockdriller!!

Did the 351 come with the spin on oil filter housing, or did you find it somewhere?

Re: Rockdrillers '63 K1000

Hey Les, the trucks looking great and more power is always good. I saw you driving through Gresham a little while back. I was going to chase you down and introduce myself but you were going the opposite way and there was a lot of traffic.

Re: Rockdrillers '63 K1000

Rockdriller,
I remember seeing you post up when you acquired this truck some time back. I remember really liking it, but I somehow missed this build thread. This is an awesome truck! I love the utility bed. My dad actually picked up a 64 2wd shortbed chevy that had that exact same utility bed, but was missing a couple of doors. He left it at the junkers, but I kind of wished he had kept it after I saw yours.

I liket he work you've done to it. So cool. I love it!
