Re: Used Parts Build

Finished welding up my down(up) pipe.

Have a small about of sugaring on the inside. Thought my purge was good but must of had some air in there.

Made another exhaust pipe to run off of my waste gate. I was thinking of routing it back into the down pipe but since this one is just for show I thought two would be cooler. I am going to brace them together next.

Here is where it is it now. I need to rub them both down with a scotch brite pad so the finish matches.

Re: Used Parts Build

Thanks guys. I haven't done much recently. The usual excuses (saving money, no time, getting burned out, blah, blah) but I started getting parts for it. Got a TBSS intake, throttle body, radiator, got the front clip back on but didn't get a pic of that yet.

Here it is right before I put the front clip back on. I hope to drive it this summer...

Re: Used Parts Build

Got my bov flange welded on. Crappy casting that fought me the whole way.

IAT fitting on.

Extended my intercooler.

Cut my core support and fabbed up a mount for the top side.

Finished my cold side

Used my harbor freight beadroller to add flanges to my tubes. Here was a practice piece.

Re: Used Parts Build

I really need to move a bead roller up on my list of new tools. The last time I needed a lip like that I welded bead around the tube.

Honestly that is the only time I have used it. My back up plan was to weld a bead. I might have to do that for the throttle body if it doesn't hold.

My buddy does film and special effects editing for a living. I am sure I can talk him into something.

Got a bit of work done.

Had to make room for my brakes but the new booster didn't have a bracket. So I removed the old one and made it work.

Installed a Corvette disc/disc master cylinder

Need to make a new connection to the rod next.

Re: Used Parts Build

Had to modify the rod a bit to fit my set up:

Welded brackets onto a cheap aluminum overflow:

Mounted it but need to adjust my air cleaner a bit:

Its interesting buying parts and actually installing them. Kinda scary.

Re: Used Parts Build

Got a bunch of little things done to the truck. None were really picture worthy. Then made a hidden panel that will go behind the tailgate just in case I get a dead battery or my compressors fail.

Then made a mounting plate out of stainless steel for my vacuum block and fuel pressure regulator. I welded all the bolts on for easy install.

I don't think anyone is going to lay on the ground under your truck and give you **** because your fuel lines aren't straight enough. Do they move fuel? That's all they need to do.

Re: Used Parts Build

Haha, considering the quality of everything else, who cares about some wavy fuel lines! that hidden box idea is great. A little envious at your ability to do that stuff!

Thank you. I mostly just "borrow" ideas from the internet and tweak them a little.

Re: Used Parts Build

Finally some pictures worth showing.

Here is a little tool I made to do my flange on my radiator lines since they wont fit in my bead roller.
Got some crimper/cutters off Amazon

Cut off the top, ground down this spot, and radius the edge of the inside

Then clamp away!

Re: Used Parts Build

Finished up my filler tube

Started a little panel for relays for my compressors and fuel pump

Lastly made a bracket for my throttle cable

I also installed a shifter rod and throttle cable but didn't bother with pictures of those.
