Re: truck wont stay running while driving

ok so its been awhile and i dont know if anyone above will see this or not, got sidetracked with another project but i got back to this one i put a new carb and a new fuel pump on and its still doing it, so i bought a new module and im just wondering if the silver transistor thing beside it will effect how it runs, its corroded and im not sure what the inside is like, the distributor was under water at one time i also checked the springs and vac advance and everything springs back into place properly

heres a pic of the module and silver transitor thing i took off

I'd definitely replace that condenser...

...if not that, then I'd think about replacing any rubber fuel lines as they can collapse inside before they show signs of it outside and cut off the fuel flow once the engine is drawing in more gas...

Unhappy Re: truck wont stay running while driving

did you ever get this problem fixed? i have the exact same issue with my truck, starts, idles fine for an hour. drive it a block and it chokes, backfires and stalls. usually wont start right away, i let it sit for an hour or two and it will start up again, same problem again....i find its when i shift into second gear it starts to stall.

thanks for the pics motonut i will check mine tomorrow since its been raining,
thsickc10 when im driving it feels like its losing power and when you give it gas it cuts out like its going to die, doesnt matter if you gently give it a lil bit of gas or ush the pedal in half way basically same scenario no matter what

also no pics of spark plug due to the above mentioned rain
Could it be a fuel boiling problem with the metal gas line going up the front of the hot block?
