That fuel line entering under the left side of the breather makes me wonder what carb you have? Most auto parts stores have short straight sections of steel fuel line with flare fittings already installed on each end. Fuel filters also come with inverted flare fittings that will fit those lines. I you buy a tubing bender, a flaring tool, and small tubing cutter you can custom make a line to run up from the pump to a filter and then on to the carb fitting. Small Block Chevy fuel lines can be bought pre bent as well.

I'm intrigued by your new radiator. Is there not room for a crossflow radiator?

Re: Carb Fuel line Options -Clean Look
He has a late 50's truck and the top tank radiator is what the truck came with and makes for an easier replacement.
The L79 Nova/Corvette motor came with a Holley that had a transfer tube ala 1850. But it uses a different front bowl. It would possilbe to buy that bowl and run the OEM steel line from the pump to carb. But that bowl may prove to be pricey. Right stuff makes a pump to carb steel line for the Edelbrock carbs, and if you run a dual feed Holley you can get the OEM lines from a Z/28 if running small block or from a Corvette 425 hp 427 if you have a big block.

Re: Carb Fuel line Options -Clean Look
You can just replace the fuel fitting on the bowl and make a new solid line.
One like this. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/hly-26-86 Or use a fitting made for a n type line like this. https://www.autozone.com/fittings-an...hread/126638_0 |
