Pics of 69-70 saddle interior?

Really want 69 model interior cuz of the s roll on the seat and door panels and no woodgrain. Looking fo tan. Only thing the resto place offers is saddle.

71/72 Saddle is very close to 69/70. I have pictures of that. It's a milk chocolate color...light brown.

Actually,here's a '69 GMC:

Re: Pics of 69-70 saddle interior?

ugh. i am really wanting a LIGHTER tan color. I guess my only option is have it custom made or dyed? 71-72 offers sandalwood which is tan, very light. But the only way you can get the door panels is with woodgrain. I like the 69-70 scroll/bowtie pattern.

Re: Pics of 69-70 saddle interior?

There was never actually a Sandalwood interior. The closest thing was in 69/70 (or maybe only one of those years) when they had what they called Gold, but was more like a really light tan as shown by CC69Rat. It's a bit darker than Parchment. Sandalwood was thecolor of steering wheels, consoles, dash pads, carpet, etc in Parchment interiors. The only things Parchment would be the seat, door panels, headliner, and seat belts. The '69 bowties (or GMC logo) was only on some. I really like those door panels, too. They are fairly rare

Then what was this?

The seat under the cover is the same color as the door panels, and I'm guessing the original steering wheel would have matched the column and dash. The sun visors are also the same color as the door panels:

Re: Pics of 69-70 saddle interior?

You're right,I guess GM did offer Sandalwood vinyl. But,it wasn't actually Sandalwood,it was just a shade off of White...a bit darker than Parchment. I have to see what they called Gold and Sandalwood together to tell the difference. Gold wasn't actually Gold, either. Sandalwood would be the color of the steering wheel, dash pad arm rest and column. The same color as used with Parchment interiors.

thanks for turning me on to that website. They have the seat cover like pictured, but they dont offer the 69 model door panels in that color. They only offer 70-71 which has the woodgrain. I really want 69 model because of the scroll pattern. 67-68 is just plain "pleated" looking. Guess I am stuck to saddle. They offer saddle and dark saddle. I was wanting an actual TAN color like they used in the copperhead truck they built on TRUCKS or horsepower tv, whichever it was. I thought surely, it was a factory option. Guess not. The only parchment I found, which would be fine also, is 67-68 model.

I will just go with saddle. How do you think saddle would look with black carpet? The visors, doorpanels, dash pad, and seat would be saddle. No headliner. With black carpet?

Re: Pics of 69-70 saddle interior?

Like Special-K said .. mine is listed as Gold on the SPID and I'm having a tough time finding good OEM ones too. Dennis has a set I am considering but they are like the ones in my pic above. I am thinking maybe Sandalwood was the Chevrolet color and Gold was for GMC (?) Maybe they just listed it differently depending on the plant where they were built or the person who filled out the SPIDs ? who knows man..

but I do like that color. Classic Industries will probably get some of my money soon.

I'm going to do the Sandalwood color with black carpet. I'd say Saddle with Saddle carpet would look cool too. Have you talked to Brad ? Maybe he can make you some door panels? I believe his 'handle' is Truckseats on the forum. He is a really stand up guy.. check with him before you order.

Have you seen the Saddle / Houndstooth seat cover he did for the Nacho truck?

What color is your truck? that might make a difference in the interior color combo? ..

The truck is gonna be a tangerine pearl, which is a darker coppery orange color.

I would do sandalwood in a heartbeat, but the only door panels I see are 70-71 with woodgrain

Sandalwood seat and door panels, with saddle dash pad and carpet? Kinda different and might look cool with the tangerine color? Just remember sandalwood dash pads seem to be tough to find. I really like the woodgrain personally.

Re: Pics of 69-70 saddle interior?

Why don't you get the Sandalwood seat cover, find good used '69 Custom/CST door panels, get dye mixed up to match seat, and dye the door panels? Do you already have black carpet? I think Gold carpet would look best.

I agree, found some original material off a base model '70 with 622 gold vinyl upholstery ( top of back of seat ). Back side has date stamp. Photo taken on a white table. The vinyl sample is also the color of door panel in post #7, but not the same color as column and dash. Wonder if the aftermarket will ever do a '69-'70 base model seat cover in this color.

Maybe you already did, but did you check with SMS? Looks close to a sample piece of vinyl they sent me.
