Another fuel question!

Also when I tried to start the truck it wants to start but it stumbles and dies. So I pulled the fuel line off of the top of the engine and cranked it to make sure the fuel pump is pumping fuel. the fuel coming out was very Brown. I thought "great the fuel went bad." This is why I dropped my Wrangler tank so I could drain it clean it and put new gas but when I pulled the tank all the gas in it was clean. So why would I get brown gas coming out of the fuel to the engine? It is all new lines with a new filter and the engine did run for about 4 minutes before I turned it off and now it won't start. just stumbles

Re: Another fuel question!

I would crank it over again and see if it clears up and check what’s in the tank

Re: Another fuel question!

Its hard to say why it would be brown, but maybe it was from sitting in the pump or something. I would do as suggested and try it again and see if it clears up. If the fuel in the tank is clean, I cant see why it wouldn't clear up after a second. As for why it wont start, pull a couple of spark plugs and make sure it hasn't gas fouled them.

So did the new PCM make the fuel pump relay start working again?

Re: Another fuel question!

Actually I did a dumb thing and missed a ground! Lol... Also my crank position plug came off somehow. Probably didn't push it on correct..
Power now coming on when i crank it. . I'm gonna reinstall the Wrangler tank for now and put some fresh gas and push fresh gas thru the lines, hook the line back up to the engine and see what happens. Wish me luck
