Can't Log On
I am helping a member, Jeff's Bowtie's, who contacted me by phone and says he can't log-on here. He had to clear things up on his phone and now has this problem. He is being told either his username or password are wrong and they aren't. He tried getting a new password and gets told that username is already in use. He had his IT friend try logging-on with his laptop and it works. Does anyone have an idea what the problem is? What can he do? He has parts for sale and can't respond.

Re: Can't Log On
so he can log in on a laptop, but not on his phone? Also, To get a password reminder, you put your email addy or username in. It can not sent the error that your name is in use for a password, that would be for trying to register a new account

Re: Can't Log On
He needs to make sure he is typing his username and password exactly, both are case sensitive. If it works on a computer it's likely related to his phone browser, may have to clear the cookies and saved password for the site from his phone.

Re: Can't Log On
I know he said he typed it exactly as it should be, proper case and all. He'll read this and let me know if it helped, also give better details if your suggestions don't work

Re: Can't Log On
It seems I have had the same issue before. I don't recall if it was logging on here or elsewhere, but I think it was here. Both of us stay logged on, so when my computer did an update or other, one day, I needed to log on using password that I could not read any longer. I requested a new password, tried to log on and got the wrong password or username message. I figured maybe there was a lag after a few tries. Memory is dull, so don't recall all details, but eventually I was successful. I think I had asked for help and was told the same as Josh suggested with clearing cookies, which I never did.

Re: Can't Log On
My problems started after I did a "Clear History and Website Data". It was working on my phone before though.
I can login fine on a computer, but when logging in on my iPhone is when I have issues. I have tried it on three different iPhone's and have verified closely that I used the correct username/password with verifying upper case and such. I also downloaded the FireFox browser and have the same issue with it as well (on iPhone 8 and newer models). From Safari on an iPhone it comes up with " You have entered an invalid username or password. Please press the back button, enter the correct details and try again. Don't forget that the password is case sensitive..." I can immediately logon to my computer with that username / password so I know it is correct. I have an older iPad with an older IOS 9.3.5 and it does allow me to login to the site using Safari. Do you have any ideas as what to try on newer IOS? Thanks! |

Re: Can't Log On
Just so you all know, this post above was not made by Jeff's Bowties, but was made by his friend Jeff who does IT. Jeff's asked Jeff to log-on as him to post here and give first hand information about Jeff's's () issue and because he is obviously way more knowledgeable than I on this stuff. I hope someone can work with Jeff IT Guy () to get this resolved.
* I might laugh about the names but this ain't no joke

Re: Can't Log On
I was with my friend when we tried these steps. I can only logon at his computer or older iPads. Any help is greatly appreciated so I can do it from my iPhone again.

Re: Can't Log On
Thanks to Josh for this. I certainly am lost when anything doesn't operate correctly with computer use.
