What if I decided to go with a different intake. Something like the one del uses on his dels3 ?

If you're doing that, then its a whole new ballgame. Plus, be prepared to spend some coin, because going that route isn't cheap. I did a similar set up on a '59 Chevy once, looked cool but cost a bit just to make it look like it didn't have an LS in it. LOL

Anyway, for what you have now, going on the numbers Mongo supplied,

1 and 2 are the PCV hoses, just leave them alone.
3 is the hose going to the purge solenoid, 5, which you can remove. The green cap is the fitting for doing a smoke test on the evap system, again, you wont need it.
4 is the MAP sensor
6 is a plug where you could hook up a power brake booster. To do that you need to remove the plug and put in a nipple to hook the hose to.
