Re: *Retirement Approching*

Congratulations! Keep busy with projects and hobbies and time will fly.

I retired in 2001 4 days before 9-11! I got a decent traditional pension and had been contributing to a 401(k) plan with a 50% company match for 34 years.

I didn't get a watch though...
My short watch story:
I had an office job and hate wearing a watch. I always put my watch on the desk and normally only wore it in meetings. When I retired, I started wearing it when I realized I needed it only for the day/date. That didn't last long though when I realized I didn't need to know the time OR DAY/DATE!

Enjoy!!!

That is one thing about retirement for me. I never know what day it is. They're all the same to me.

The only time it becomes an issue is trash day. I hear the truck coming up the hill and think "Uh oh. It's Friday" Then I have to make a mad dash to take my cans out before he gets there.

Re: *Retirement Approching*

Thanks guys. 1st day of retirement. Feels good setting here in my PJ's at the pc watching the wife get ready for work. Gotta cut the grass today and my new door seals are due in for my 49. Here is a couple pic of the Zippo lighter I bought back in 72 at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls TX and then when I was on the island of Luzon in the Philippines on Clark AFB in 74-75 I had it engraved by one of the local nationals down down.
