Re: Transmission Company
if you're looking for a 200-4R outright, Art Carr is worth a look, good luck!

Re: Transmission Company
Just my $.02
I once bought a Transmission from a shop on the other side of the country. Un-crated it, installed it, adjusted it and drove it. ...It didn't shift correctly. I called the shop that built the trans and they were more than happy to take care of it. "Just remove the transmission, crate it up and ship it back to us (I pay shipping). We'd be more than happy to take a look at it, we'll pay return shipping. I sold that stupid truck (at a loss) with a goofy shifting transmission. Now---> I got a guy named Randy that works on my slush boxes. He's a nice guy, he's honest and a hard worker. Most importantly, his shop is 10 blocks from my house. If my trans doesn't work properly, I just go see Randy and he takes care of it . I suggest you find a "Randy"

Re: Transmission Company
We had a guy in Waco that built killer 200R4's. He's had a stroke and doesn't do anything anymore.

Re: Transmission Company
If your going with a texas built transmission then clinebarger is your only real choice.

Extreme has higher normal shift points (" Light part throttle about 2700 give or take 100 rpm") and higher WOT shift points (4800-5200 RPM). Lee's allows you to hold whatever gear your in to higher RPM, which may not be such a big thing. Don't most trans do that? It's a significant difference in $$, but I've been roadside due to a transmission failure and know that at such a point I would feel pretty stupid for not paying the extra $$.

Re: Transmission Company
4L80E is really the only way to go now....
as far as shift point tuning etc, you have so much more capability with an E trans....yes, it needs a controller but strength wise it will beat a 200R4 hands down.... clinebarger can chip in here.... Just my ten cents worth ,,,

if you're not budget strapped or expecting to shell it after one weekend at the strip, I would lean toward the extreme as it sounds a little more robust built for longevity but I'm no expert.. dyno tested is reassuring as well as the extensive positive reviews and customer photos with front wheels off the ground good luck!
