Re: I give up on shipping anything USPS
I had a small package of electronic components I ordered off of Ebay languish in NY city for about three weeks. I filed a "Research Case" on it about a week ago. They just came back and said because it was not insured I was SOL and that there were delays. I see it finally made it to my local distribution center this morning almost a month after it was shipped. I'm not sure if filing a case made a difference but it might have.

Re: I give up on shipping anything USPS
Gotta say our mailman is solid guy. In NM it seemed there were always different carriers delivering and they’d do ridiculous things like set packages upon or on the ground beside my mailbox rather than delivering larger packages at my door. Guy we have now takes care of the mail and makes time to converse.

Re: I give up on shipping anything USPS
My registration expires end of the month. In November I received an e-mail reminder to renew online. I never got the mail-in renewal. I haven't been able to renew online because they say debit card number is invalid, which it obviously is not. So it's not just mail that's screwed up. Computers can sure suck. Anyway, thank goodness our governor has us in a state of emergency until Covid clears, so expired stuff gets slack. Finally, on Friday the mail-in renewal showed up. Two weeks before the tags expire! I sent it right in. I should be getting my stickers a lot faster than the renewal took. I'm sure I'll be expired a while, though.

Re: I give up on shipping anything USPS
I order a lot of parts online. Most times I get UPS or Fedex, but I needed some small parts for my wife's car and RockAuto shipped them USPS. That was a week ago. They were supposed to arrive yesterday, and they're still not here. I decided to do a detailed tracking and looked up the ZIP code where they were last scanned. When I put that ZIP code into Google, it came back with Kirnaičiai, Lithuania.
That explains a lot.

Re: I give up on shipping anything USPS
I think we can agree ALL shippers have problems ALL the time. You'd think with today's technologies most of this crap wouldn't happen but it does.
Hmmmm. Maybe they are TOO modernized. Ya think?

With any big corporation you are going to get some morons screwing things up. Sometimes they get fired and sometimes they get promoted.

Re: I give up on shipping anything USPS
Things have been coming as normal for me. Maybe they need to start riding ponies again. The Pony Express rode through hell and high water to get the mail through. It was a big deal and an honor to ride for them. Now look at the mentality

Yeah, but the pony express was short lived....I have stops within 15 miles from me. Interesting history indeed.

Re: I give up on shipping anything USPS
So true. Where I used to work, people breaking stuff got promoted to keep them from breaking more stuff. Sad thing was, they got put into management and weren't really able to help people manage their careers any more than they were able to manage themselves. It got so bad that people were suing the company because they weren't prosecuting/firing the people who were abusing other people. I'm talking physical battery, not just yelling at people (which is also unacceptable, if you want a willing workforce). After a few $1M lawsuits, we all had to sit through a 90 minute lecture from a corporate attorney about how to act- things that we should have learned in the sandbox as kids.
I went to a lunchtime workplace violence seminar, and one of the speakers mentioned that physically abusing your co-workers got you promoted. He then said that that wasn't true, but before he corrected himself, I could see heads (including my own) nodding in agreement all over the room.

Re: I give up on shipping anything USPS
I ordered some more exhaust tubing mandrel bends, they shipped over 2wks ago..tracking showed them sitting in a warehouse in Oregon..
Yesterday, heres what I found.. Fedx just dumped the box in my driveway...from all the gravel marks, it looked like they threw it out the back of the truck, when I came home with the sun in my eyes, i nearly ran over it.. The porch is a wiff and a whisker away...a mere 30ft..
