I also figured a wagon would be safer in case of an accident. His was a 6cyl/3pd manual everything. Simple as a Volkswagen is what I'd tell people. and "20 minute tune-up". I did the first one while he watched. Turned around and had him do it again. That was it!

Yup I want it now . Had to be 64 through 66 model year Studebaker sliding roof wagon . Based on the front fenders

Found some more pictures. Pretty unique name one other factory wagon that could do this 1964 based on the wheel covers .

Same engine in mine, simple and great running car.
Traded it later for a 1964 Ford Fairlane, should kept the wagon instead....was a "bondo-bucket" with cracked engine block.

But in the early 80's I picked up this Chevrolet, came from Belgium and was used as a hearse.
Had long chrome-rails on each side, two square lights on the roof and very low mileage.
Repaired all the rust issues and installed a rear bench seat & new fresh two-tone paint job.
Found a used nice roof rack, became a daily driver for 6 years.
